Seraphine Soul Stories

Séraphine Louis, known as "Séraphine de Senlis" ("Séraphine of Senlis") (1864–1942), was a French painter in the naïve style. Self-taught, she was inspired by her religious faith and by stained-glass church windows and other religious art. The intensity of her images, both in color and in replicative designs, are sometimes interpreted as a reflection of her own psyche, walking a tightrope between ecstasy and mental illness

Continuing on with Soul and Stories.  I have just watched an amazing movie 'Seraphine' (and Jen you can borrow it from the Gordon when I return it on Tuesday!)

Seraphine was a French 'outsider' 'naive' artist who spent her days cleaning and her nights painting by candlelight.
Her soul and stories are so beautiful!
'they are perhaps the most direct attempt at expression of a soul.'
You cannot seperate Seraphine and her creations.  She sings to them and so brings them forth and they sing to us the viewer; transporting us-we are in the presence of the divine.  If Heaven is this heart-breakingly beautiful I am going there!

Wrap your arms around a tree, feel the wind, talk to the insects and birds.  Light a candle and commune with your soul.

Sing and paint!
