Fathers' Day

Today in Australia is Fathers' Day.  Mr P was woken at 7am by Miss C with kisses and schoolmade goodness, a tomato plant and cup of tea.
And of course this love fest caused me to burst out into tears of remembrance for My Dad who passed away 8years ago when Miss C was only 4mths old.   Dad suffered from an incurable leukemia but fought the brave fight so he could see and spend some time with his first (much wanted, much loved) grandchild.
Also today, our much loved ancient apricot tree, (the one dad planted many moons ago), the one that is only standing because it is stubborn (a trait my Dad and I both share), blossomed!

So, today if you still have your Dad (or your father figure) in this world, give him a hug and feel the love, plant a tree, or tell each other secrets.

If your Dad is in another world, light a candle, blow him a kiss and make a wish.

'remember the face of your father' (a line taken from a Stephen King book-the Dark Tower Series).

So HAPPY FATHERS' DAY  all you wonderful men out there!

Rose lovely comment on Fathers' Day. I feel a bit lonely on this day as my Dad is gone as well but it is a good time to remember who he was and what he still means to me. Happy Fathers Day. Jen
